Job summary

Kempsville Center for Behavioral Health is seeking a Dietary Associate to prepare healthy meals for residents, staff, and guests. You will follow weekly menus and ensure compliance with health and safety standards in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities include stocking kitchen items, planning production, and maintaining high quality meals while supporting therapeutic goals and service excellence.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of hospital/food service operations and safety practices.
• Ability to read, write and follow instructions accurately.
• Good communication with staff and residents.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items per weekly menu for residents, staff, and guests.
• Maintain sanitation and health standards per Health Department guidelines.
• Stock utensils, disposables, and condiments after meals; ensure meals are healthy and appealing.
• Plan production to minimize overages/shortages and manage par levels.
• Foster effective communication within the team and support therapeutic goals.
• Serve as a role model for service excellence to patients/residents.
