Job summary

Weeks Medical Center in Lancaster, NH is hiring a hospital dietary worker to prepare and cook large quantities of food for patients, staff and visitors. You will serve meals, deliver trays, assist patients with menus, and maintain sanitary work areas in compliance with safety standards.

Reports to the Food Service Manager and participates in opening/closing the Dietary Department, following daily production sheets, and coordinating tasks to meet timelines and dietary requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• ServSafe certification required (may be obtained after hire).
• Basic computer, math, and communication (oral and written) skills required.

Responsibilities

• Opening and closing the Dietary Department as scheduled.
• Follow daily production sheets and prepare food per recipes with dietary restrictions.
• Serve food to staff, patrons and patients respecting portions and presentation standards.
• Coordinate time management to meet deadlines and complete tasks within scheduled hours.
• Prepare, set up and deliver meal trays; assist in menu selection as needed.
• Maintain sanitation and cleanliness per FDA Food Code and NH regulations.
• Stock and rotate food and non-food items in refrigerators and work areas.
• Document daily and weekly data for quality control and inventory tracking.
