Job summary

Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, SD seeks a regular environmental services worker to maintain a clean and safe hospital environment. The role requires adherence to safety standards, effective communication with staff, and reliable attendance for early morning shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate effectively with others and understand instructions.
• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a clean/neat environment in working areas (patient rooms, offices, nurses' stations, hallways, bathrooms, etc.).
• Participates in all cleaning activities including walls, ceilings, vents, lights, baseboards, windows and light bulbs replacement.
• Maintains clean floor surfaces through dusting, buffing, scrubbing, stripping/sealing, waxing, extracting and vacuuming.
• Disposes of trash properly, including handling pickup, boxing, shredding, and keeping receptacles clean.
• Relocates office and other hospital furniture/equipment as needed.
