Job summary

Morrison Healthcare, located at Harbor UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, CA, is hiring immediately for a full-time Culinary Team Leader. The role supervises the cook team, ensures food safety, and supports production staff in a fast-paced hospital kitchen.

Join a dedicated Compass Healthcare family environment with day hours (Mon-Fri, 8:00 am–4:00 pm) and rotating weekends/holidays. Earn $26.15–$27.00 per hour, with Kaiser health insurance provided.

Qualifications

• Previous culinary and production kitchen experience required.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in supervising daily duties of the cook team to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
• Monitor completion of all required food safety, temperature, and production logs.
• Support production staff by providing guidance, training, and hands-on assistance as needed.
• Arrange coverage for cook call-offs or step in to fill shifts when necessary.
• Work closely with Management to ensure smooth communication and consistent workflow.
• Oversees and participates in the preparation and service of food while adhering to standards.
• Directs and participates in sanitation and safety of the facility and staff.
• Oversees productivity and breaks; communicates performance issues to management.
• Participates in onboarding and training of other associates; may conduct pre-service meetings.
• Responds to customer needs and requests; resolves customer concerns.
• Assists in menu planning and ordering procedures using company programs.
• May be responsible for cash handling and daily/weekly/monthly reports, including inventory.
