Job summary

Morrison Healthcare, a Compass Group company, is hiring a full-time Culinary Team Leader at Harbor UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, CA. The role requires prior culinary and production kitchen experience, with supervisory experience preferred, and involves supervising cooks, ensuring food safety, and coordinating daily operations on a 8:00 am–4:00 pm schedule.

• We are hiring immediately for a full time CULINARY TEAM LEADER position.
• Location: Harbor UCLA Medical Center - 1000 West Carson Street, Torrance, CA 90502. Note: online applications accepted only.
• Schedule: Full time schedule. Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm; rotating weekends and holidays. More details upon interview.
• Requirement: Previous culinary and production kitchen experience required. Previous supervisory experience is preferred. Core job desciption is below - a few day-to-day responsibilities will include:
  • Assist in supervising daily duties of the cook team to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
  • Monitor completion of all required food safety, temperature, and production logs.
  • Support production staff by providing guidance, training, and hands-on assistance as needed.
  • Arrange coverage for cook call-offs or step in to fill shifts when necessary.
  • Work closely with Management to ensure smooth communication and consistent workflow.
• Pay Range: $26.15per hour to$27.00per hour.

Job Summary

Summary: Assists the Manager on Duty with coordinating production, safety and customer service by assigning, delegating and managing the duties of all staff within the facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversees and participates in the preparation and service of food and beverage items while adhering to company standards for presentation, sanitation and safety while meeting HACCP, OSHA guidelines; ensures proper portion control.
• Oversees work procedures and expedites workflow to ensure timely, efficient meal service to all service areas.
• Directs and participates in the overall sanitation and safety of the facility and associates in accordance with both company standards and government regulations.
• Oversees the productivity and breaks of associates; communicates performance issues to management.
• Participates in the onboarding and training of other associates; may conduct pre-service meetings.
• Responds to customer needs and requests; resolves customer concerns.
• Assists in menu planning and ordering procedures using appropriate company programs and initiatives.
• May be responsible for proper cash handling and completion of required daily, weekly and monthly reports, including inventory, cash and production records.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
