Job summary

Duke Raleigh Hospital, a Campus of Duke University Hospital, is seeking a CRNA to administer anesthetics for surgical procedures. Responsibilities span anesthesia preparation, monitoring, and post-anesthesia care, with opportunities to supervise students and residents.

Incentives include a $60,000 commitment bonus, a $15,000 annual stipend, a $2,500 CME allowance, and an $8,000 relocation budget for qualifying moves. New grads are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited MSN or DNP or DNAP CNRA program.
• CRNA certification required; eligibility for certification by the AANA for new grads.
• Current RN licensure issued by or recognized by NCBON with approval to practice as a CRNA.

Responsibilities

• Administer anesthetics during surgical, obstetrical, and other procedures.
• Determine, set up and prepare drugs, supplies and equipment for anesthesia; test gas machine; ensure proper blood type availability.
• Study patient records to assess anesthetic effects; monitor vital signs; maintain near-normal physiology.
• Prepare patients for anesthesia and document conditions.
• Assist in moving patient to recovery area; monitor and treat post-anesthesia effects.
• Supervise and instruct student nurse anesthetists and residents in anesthesia procedures.
• Disassemble equipment and clean area; report necessary repairs.
• Maintain records of anesthetics administered and prepare periodic reports.
