Job summary

Conemaugh Meyersdale Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Cook to support patient, staff and visitor dining services. You will prepare, season and cook meals, ensuring quality, safety and timely delivery within hospital guidelines.

The role requires a high school diploma, 2 years in hospital food service, and ServSafe certification within 3 months of hire with recertification every 3 years.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Two years experience in hospital food service preferred.
• Must obtain ServSafe Certification within 3 months of hire and recertify every 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, seasons, and cooks food for patients, staff, visitors.
• Reviews menus to determine quantities of food needed.
• Prepares quality food in sufficient quantities to cover service needs.
• Coordinates timing of preparation to meet service schedules.
• Adheres to recipes and portion control to manage waste and cost.
• Maintains sanitation of equipment in food production areas.
• Follows sanitation and food safety standards (HACCP).
• Participates in ordering supplies.
• Gives direction to staff assisting in food preparation.
• Uses knowledge of age-specific needs of patients in duties.
• Orients and mentors new staff members.
• Follows Standard Precautions using PPE as necessary.
