Trinity Health Michigan is seeking a part-time cook to prepare and season foods for patients, staff, and visitors. You will use established menus and recipes, measure ingredients, and ensure meals are ready on schedule.

The role involves supervising a Culinary Assistant, overseeing food production, and maintaining clean, sanitary production areas while monitoring inventory and quality control.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred; able to read and write English; possesses basic math skills.
• Two to three years food production experience in an institutional setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reviews menus and production schedules to plan types and quantities of meats, vegetables, soups, and salads to meet meal times.
• Measures, weighs, and combines ingredients for hot and cold items following established recipes.
• Cooks regular and diet menu items according to established procedures with accurate production.
• Ensures items are prepared in a timely manner and ready for assigned mealtimes.
• Monitors consumption and adjusts production to avoid shortages or surpluses.
• Oversees the work of Food Service Worker and ensures meals are prepared properly.
• Inspects storage areas and maintains proper food storage to prevent spoilage; stocks units as needed.
