Job summary

The Cook II at JPS Health Network in Fort Worth prepares a variety of food items following tested recipes and correct cooking techniques. He/she sets up stations, cooks to order, and ensures food safety and sanitary practices for service.

Staff work with a range of equipment, maintain temperatures, and may be asked to perform other duties. Experience and food safety certification are required or pursued promptly after hire.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of cooking experience in the food service industry.
• Food Handler Certification within 30 days of hire from an approved TXDSHS program.
• Associates Degree in Culinary Arts preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of foods following recipes and correct cooking techniques.
• Set up work stations with supplies for menu service.
• Cook to order foods per request with standard cooking methods.
• Maintain a sanitary kitchen area and sanitize surfaces and tools.
• Serve and store food following safe temperature practices and handling.
• Operate commercial food service equipment safely and accurately.
• Work independently with minimal oversight.
• Adapt to changes in duties as assigned.
