Job summary

APSI Construction Management seeks a Construction Manager / Mechanical Engineer (CM-ME) for the VA Medical Center in West Haven, CT. The role supports the Surgical and Clinical Tower project phases with inspection, coordination, and reporting.

Candidates bring an engineering degree and at least five years’ mechanical engineering experience, including construction inspection and cost-tracking. Shift coverage at the site is required.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree required or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years’ mechanical engineering experience.
• 5 years’ experience inspecting mechanical construction.
• Knowledge of HVAC and medical/lab equipment preferred.
• Ability to provide cost estimates and change orders.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate submittal reviews and manage submittal process.
• Monitor budgetary cost accounting and change orders.
• Maintain project scheduling and update daily logs.
• Attend and support progress meetings; document status.
• Assist in issue resolution and coordination with VA and contractors.
