Job summary

MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center is seeking a Part-time Business Support Specialist to join its communications operations. You will monitor and respond to inquiries, greet patients and visitors, and support mailings and room coordination across hospital sites.

You will operate paging systems, respond to beeper pages, and announce emergency codes while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality in line with HIPAA and Trinity Health standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; higher degrees allowed.
• Experience in direct customer relations/communications center preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft O365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Edge) and Internet.

Responsibilities

• Receive and route incoming calls via SPOK Console quickly and efficiently per established protocol.
• Perform page requests and initiate security calls using the hospital public address system, Motorola pagers, and security radio.
• Announce all emergency codes via the public address system and monitor alarm panels, notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
