Job summary

PIH Health Hospital Whittier is seeking a Communications Resources Clerk to handle call routing and communications across departments, patients, and physicians. The role also initiates responses to codes and alarms, performs overhead pages, and supports on-call scheduling.

Additional duties include limited audiovisual/conference center support, in-house pager, and Vocera assistance, with a night shift and hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED is preferred.
• Experience on a Switchboard or in a Customer Service or Administrative environment is preferred.
• Six months to one year computerized console experience and general office skills.
• Previous hospital/healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer and extend calls to the various departments of the IDS and to patients and physicians.
• Initiate responses to codes and alarms; perform overhead pages.
• Participate in the On-Call Scheduling program.
• Provide limited Audiovisual/Conference Center, In-House pager and Vocera support.
