Job Overview

Looking for an Inpatient Coding Specialist with a coding credential through AHIMA or AAPC. Responsible for selecting applicable Diagnoses and Procedures, sequencing codes following ICD-10-CM/PCS guidelines, and querying providers for clarification when needed. Must have experience with hospital encoding, MS-DRG, and NY-APR methodologies. This position is fully remote with equipment provided, and adherence to HIPAA and Privacy policies is required.

Qualifications
  • AHIMA or AAPC coding credential
  • Experience with hospital encoder, EPIC, and 3M 360
  • Assessment score of 80% or above (considering higher scores for new coders)
  • Knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, UHDDS, and healthcare data reporting standards
Responsibilities
  • Apply diagnostic and procedural codes accurately to inpatient records
  • Sequence diagnoses and procedures following official coding guidelines
  • Support healthcare data reporting for reimbursement, quality, and research
  • Maintain coding quality and productivity standards
