Qualifications

Job description

Job Title: Remote Inpatient Coder III

Location (city, state): Remote (must reside in a hireable U.S. state – list below)

Pay: $30 - $45/hour (Contract)

About Our Client:

Our client is a prominent healthcare organization recognized for its strong inpatient coding operations. This role supports the central inpatient coding division, which handles a high volume of general inpatient cases, including obstetrics, neonatal care, and oncology—one of the facility’s core specialties.

Job Description:

This is a contract-to-permanent remote inpatient coding opportunity. Candidates must be credentialed (RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CCS-P, CIC, CIRCC) and demonstrate recent experience with EPIC and 3M 360 CAC systems. Candidates must meet quality expectations within 4–6 weeks and production standards within 2 months. Interview is virtual.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform accurate and timely coding of inpatient medical records, including OB, newborn, COVID, Cardiology (CABG, PTCA, valve replacements), Spinal Fusion, NICU, and high-risk OB cases.
  • Utilize EPIC and 3M360 CAC systems for daily coding tasks.
  • Maintain productivity benchmarks:
  • Achieve a minimum 96% quality score.
  • Independently navigate and apply facility guidelines and SharePoint resources (200+ documents).
  • Participate in 100% prebill auditing through Addison Group.

Qualifications:

  • Required Credentials: RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CCS-P, CIC, CIRCC
  • (CCA and CPC not accepted)
  • Experience: 2+ years of hospital inpatient coding
  • Systems: EPIC (used within the last year), 3M 360 CAC (preferred)
  • Other Requirements:
    • Must pass Addison’s test with a score in the 90s
    • Must not use nicotine in any form (tested before contract and perm hire)
    • Must be willing to obtain flu and COVID vaccines upon conversion to permanent

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8AM–5PM CST (flexible post-training; earliest start 6AM CST)
  • Start Date: ASAP
