Ideal candidates hold an ASCP/AMT cert, an associate degree (bachelor preferred), BLS, and 2–3 years of hospital experience; local or travel candidates are welcome, with a focus on patient care

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
• ASCP, AMT, or equivalent certification required.
• Active BLS certification required.
• 2-3 years of experience as a CLS or MLT in a hospital laboratory setting.
• Experience in rural or underserved healthcare settings preferred.
• Prior Indian Health Services (IHS) or tribal healthcare experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must be able to pass Federal Security Clearance.
• Immunization records required.

Responsibilities

• Provide laboratory services in a hospital-based clinical setting to support accurate and timely diagnostic care.
• Perform diagnostic testing across chemistry, hematology, blood bank, urinalysis, serology, and microbiology.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory analyzers and equipment.
• Perform quality control procedures and equipment calibration.
• Analyze and interpret laboratory results with professional judgment.
• Assist with phlebotomy and specimen collection as needed.
• Document and manage laboratory data within EHR and laboratory systems.
• Follow established laboratory procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.
• Collaborate with laboratory and healthcare staff to support timely patient care.

Education

Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology

Bachelor’s degree (preferred)

ASCP, AMT, or equivalent certification

Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
