Qualifications

• Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (Bachelor's degree preferred).
• ASCP, AMT, or equivalent certification required.
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• 2-3 years of experience in a hospital laboratory setting.
• Experience in rural or underserved healthcare settings preferred.
• Prior IHS or tribal healthcare experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic testing in chemistry, hematology, blood bank, urinalysis, serology, and microbiology.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory analyzers and equipment.
• Perform quality control procedures and equipment calibration.
• Analyze and interpret laboratory results using professional judgement.
• Assist with phlebotomy and specimen collection as needed.
• Document and manage laboratory data within EHR and lab systems.
• Follow laboratory procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.
• Collaborate with laboratory and healthcare staff to support patient care.

Position Overview

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) will provide laboratory services in a hospital-based clinical setting, supporting accurate and timely diagnostic care.

• Perform diagnostic testing in chemistry, hematology, blood bank, urinalysis, serology, and microbiology
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory analyzers and equipment
• Perform quality control procedures and equipment calibration
• Analyze and interpret laboratory results using sound professional judgement
• Assist with phlebotomy and specimen collection as needed
• Accurately document and manage laboratory data within applicable electronic health record and laboratory systems
• Follow established laboratory procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements
• Work collaboratively with laboratory and healthcare staff to support timely patient care

• Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
• Must be a U.S. citizen
• Must be able to pass Federal Security Clearance
• Immunization records required
