Job summary

Overland Park Regional Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist PRN to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical services for hospital inpatients, promoting safe medication therapy and leadership of the medication-use system.

Responsibilities include interpreting orders, accurately compounding and dispensing pharmaceuticals, monitoring drug therapies, advising on cost-effective alternatives, and supporting clinical services such as drug consults and anticoagulant

Qualifications

• B.S. or PharmD from ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy.
• Active pharmacist license in good standing.
• State-specific Medications Therapy Management Certification.
• At least 1 year hospital clinical pharmacy experience or 2 years general hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• PGY1/general practice residency or fellowship preferred.
• BCPS certification preferred.
• OPRMC has a high acuity NICU.

Responsibilities

• Interpret orders and transcribe into the pharmacy computer system.
• Accurately compound and dispense pharmaceuticals.
• Monitor drug therapy regimens for contraindications, interactions, allergies and dosing suitability.
• Suggest cost-effective therapeutic medication alternatives to medical staff.
• Sustain the hospital formulary and promote rational drug therapy selection.
• Assist with clinical services such as drug consults, nutrition support, anticoagulant monitoring, and IV to PO transitions.
• Complete notification reports regarding medication errors and adverse drug reactions.
• Provide oversight of staff schedules.

Education

B.S. or PharmD from ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy

Doctor of Pharmacy from ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy (preferred)
