Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Services Worker II to clean, sanitize, and maintain hospital facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for patients and staff. You will perform floor care, waste removal, linen handling, spill cleanup, and general cleaning in line with infection control standards.

You will also document tasks, communicate needs to the supervisor, and maintain regular attendance, adhering to all hospital policies and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in environmental services, housekeeping, custodial work, or hospital facility maintenance.
• Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, and floor care techniques.
• Ability to follow infection control standards and hospital policies.

Responsibilities

• Perform floor care including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, waxing, and shampooing.
• Manage waste disposal following policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Handle soiled linens and ensure proper containment and storage.
• Clean and sanitize patient rooms, restrooms, and common areas.
• Respond to spills and perform containment and disinfection.
• Communicate maintenance needs to supervisor to ensure timely resolution.
• Maintain cleaning logs and document completed tasks.
• Maintain regular attendance and comply with all policies.
