Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a housekeeping/ environmental services associate to perform cleaning in patient rooms, offices and ancillary areas. You will follow safety rules when handling chemicals and equipment, and participate in efforts to improve patient satisfaction and daily operations.

The role requires ability to follow instructions, basic communication skills, and the use of power equipment. This on-site position emphasizes reliability and adherence to hospital standards.

Qualifications

• Follow written and oral instructions.
• Basic reading, writing and effective communication skills.
• Ability to operate power equipment.
• FIT testing may be required, but provided upon hire as needed.

Responsibilities

• Performs timely patient room cleaning and supports departments; cleans discharge cleaning, patient room cleaning, cycle cleaning, office cleaning and all ancillary area cleaning to ensure continuity of patient care and daily operations.
• Cleans building exteriors and refills dispensers; collects all receptacles.
• Completes project work such as wall washing, trash removal, biohazardous linens and sharps container removal; assists with hospital emergency clean up.
• Participates in Patient Satisfaction initiatives to meet department goals.
• Adheres to hospital safety standards in the use of chemicals, equipment and machinery and clearly marks hazardous areas.
• Follows policies, procedures, rules and regulations of the hospital as well as regulatory bodies.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
