Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Cleaning Specialist to perform standardized cleaning in patient rooms, offices, and departments, ensuring cleanliness and safety across facilities. The role includes daily patient room cleaning, exterior cleaning, restocking dispensers, and participation in patient satisfaction initiatives, with adherence to safety standards and hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Basic reading, writing and effective communication skills.
• FIT testing may be required, but provided upon hire as needed.

Responsibilities

• Performs timely patient room cleaning and supports departments; cleans daily in patient rooms, discharge cleaning, cycle cleaning, office cleaning and all ancillary area cleaning. Cleaning of assigned building exteriors.
• Refilling of dispensers in all required areas and collection of all receptacles.
• Completes project work such as wall washing, trash removal, biohazardous linens and sharps container removal. Assists with Hospital emergency clean up.
• Actively participates in and accomplishes Patient Satisfaction initiatives to meet department goals.
• Adheres to all hospital safety standards in the use of chemicals, equipment and machinery and in clearly marking hazardous areas.
• Adheres to the policies, procedures, rules and regulations of the hospital as well as regulatory bodies.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
