Job summary

Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola is seeking a chaplain to provide compassionate religious and spiritual counsel to patients, families, and associates, addressing distress with respect for all cultures. You will visit patients regularly and communicate to support their emotional and spiritual well-being.

The role collaborates with an interdisciplinary care team to integrate holistic spiritual care into the patient's treatment and wellness plan, while mentoring Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE)

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Divinity, Theology, or related field from an accredited school.
• Board Certification from APC, NACC, CASC, or NAJC (or certification within 2 years).
• 3 units of ACPE CPE are required if not board-certified; 4 units preferred.
• 3–5 years of healthcare chaplain experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate religious and spiritual counsel to patients, families, and associates.
• Cultivate deep spiritual connections through visitation and communication.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to integrate holistic spiritual care.
• Mentor CPE students and fellows to develop future spiritual care professionals.
