Job summary

Ascension’s Pastoral Care Spiritual Care team in Pensacola, FL is seeking a full-time chaplain to provide compassionate religious and spiritual counsel to patients, families, and associates. The role emphasizes visiting and supporting diverse spiritual needs, collaborating with an interdisciplinary care team to integrate holistic spiritual care into treatment plans, and mentoring CPE students and fellows.

Requires board certification or eligibility, a Master’s degree in Divinity/Theology, and

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Divinity or Theology is required.
• Board Certification or eligibility within 2 years of hire.
• 3 units of CPE accredited by ACPE required unless board-certified; 4 units preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate religious and spiritual counsel to patients, families, and associates, addressing emotional and spiritual distress with respect for all cultures and traditions.
• Cultivate spiritual connections through visitation and communication, supporting patients and families.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to integrate holistic spiritual care into treatment plans.
• Mentor CPE students and fellows to develop future spiritual care professionals.

Education

Master's Degree in Divinity, Theology, or related field

3 CPE units (ACPE) required (4 preferred)
