Job summary

Mercy is seeking a dedicated chaplain to join our pastoral services team. The role supports the healing mission by ministering to patients, families, and staff in times of illness, injury or stress, guided by Mercy Service Standards.

Responsibilities include providing spiritual care, collaborating with the interdisciplinary clinical team, and offering compassionate, culturally sensitive support. A Theology/Ministry degree and CPE are preferred, with endorsement eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in theology/ministry or related field.
• One unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) or equivalent.
• Endorsed or eligible for endorsement by faith community.
• Experience visiting the sick in a ministry capacity.

Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual care for patients, families, and staff.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary clinical team to deliver holistic services.
• Respond with compassion, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Theology, Ministry, Divinity, or related field

One unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) or equivalent experience
