Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Chaplain to provide spiritual care and pastoral support to patients, families, and staff at Lake Forest Hospital. The role includes on-call coverage, ethical consultation involvement, and collaboration with the Spiritual Care Department to promote holistic patient care.

Requires a Master’s degree in theology or related field, and completion of at least one CPE unit or in progress. Ordination is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in theology or related field required.
• CPE unit or in-progress within 90 days of hire required.
• Ordination preferred or in good standing within faith tradition.

Responsibilities

• Deliver spiritual care, counseling, and emotional support to patients and families.
• Lead interdisciplinary clinical team activities and care conferences as appropriate.
• Provide end-of-life support and bereavement resources.
• Educate staff on Advanced Directives and Goals of Care conversations.
• Develop and lead spiritual care services within the hospital.
