Job summary

Northwestern Medicine in Geneva, IL is seeking an On-Call Chaplain to provide spiritual care to patients, families, and staff outside regular hours. The role requires being within 30 minutes of Delnor Hospital and responding to after-hours needs with compassion and judgment.

Qualifications

• One unit of Clinical Pastoral Education or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in theology, related field, or advanced studies equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Conduct spiritual assessments and tailor interventions to individual patient needs.
• Provide emotional and spiritual support to patients, families, and staff.
• Guide advance care planning conversations and support patients in decision making.
• Facilitate religious rituals, sacraments, and lead prayers and blessings as appropriate.
• Collaborate with the inter-professional team and document encounters in the medical record.
