Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Part-time Chaplain to provide spiritual care and pastoral support to patients, families, and hospital staff within the Northwestern Medicine system. The chaplain will deliver counseling, lead worship and prayer, and collaborate with Ethics Committee when needed to determine appropriate ethics consultations.

The role requires a Master’s degree in theology or related field and completion of CPE within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in theology, religion, pastoral care, spiritual care, or divinity.
• At least one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) or in process within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Delivers spiritual care and pastoral support to patients, families, and staff.
• Identifies ethical dilemmas and escalates per site policy.
• Provides end-of-life support and bereavement support as needed.
• Educates on Advanced Directives and Goals of Care.
