Job summary

Advocate Health’s Food and Nutrition Services department in Winston-Salem, NC, is hiring for a full-time cafeteria role. Primary hours 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with every other weekend and rotating holidays, 40 hours per week, $18.85 to $28.30 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must be literate in English and able to follow instructions
• Ability to adjust to the needs of the department
• Desire to achieve high customer service standards
• Must be comfortable entering patient rooms and interacting with them
• Ability to work weekends and holidays
• Ability to communicate with a wide variety of people including patients, visitors, employees, nursing staff, managers, and hospital staff

Responsibilities

• Monitors quality of product at stations, ensures recipe compliance, and adherence to departmental guidelines
• Ensures that productivity, delivery, and serving line start time schedules are met
• Minimizes product waste and controls cost. Follows portion control guidelines and manages food and supplies
• Oversees that all equipment and supplies are properly utilized, maintained, and handled to avoid breakage
• Contributes to overall positive patient and customer satisfaction striving to meet the highest service and quality standards
• Maintains sanitation ratings and complies with Health Department and NSF standards
• Follows safety, sanitation, and regulatory rules and completes required training
• Delivers and serves food trays safely and courteously
• Interacts with patients, visitors, and staff to resolve issues and provide assistance
• Adheres to policies and fosters teamwork
