The role involves counseling patients on financial obligations and collaborating with Admitting, Medical Records, Utilization Review and physicians’ staff.

The ideal candidate will have proven collections experience, Excel proficiency, and background in medical billing.

Mansioni

• Verifies hospital insurance information.
• Compiles hospital bills and submits claims to insurance companies.
• Contacts patients/insurance companies to collect unpaid claims.
• Verifies Insurance/Demographic information in computer system.
• Stays informed about changes in insurance plans and contracts.
• Follow up on all accounts within 30 days until paid.
• Manages delinquent accounts.
• Moves Self Pay accounts to collections when appropriate by policy.
• Keeps upfront log up to date with daily activity/discharges.
• Answers the telephone in a polite manner and communicates information to the appropriate personnel.
• Demonstrates the ability to be flexible, organized and function well in stressful situations.
