Job summary

Parkwood Behavioral Health System (a UHS facility) is seeking a Biller/Collector to manage daily operations of the collection department. Responsibilities include timely collection of payments, billing UB04 claims, and insurance follow-ups in a hospital setting.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in general accounting/collections, healthcare billing experience, and a high school diploma (Bachelor’s in Accounting preferred).

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred.
• Experience: Three or more years in general accounting/collection, preferably healthcare; hospital medical billing experience required.
• Knowledge: Collections, hospital insurance billing, general accounting and working with computer systems.

Responsibilities

• The Collector will ensure the collection of payments due to Parkwood Hospital in a timely, accurate manner.
• Bill UB04 claims to insurance companies.
• Follow-up on claims billed to the insurance.
• Back-up for payment posting, deposit preparation and insurance verification.
• The Collector functions in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Parkwood Behavioral Health System.
