The Registered Nurse (Hospital-Based) provides nursing care to patients of varying age groups, following nursing process and standards. The role emphasizes leadership, safety, and collaboration with the care team to achieve optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing is required.
• New-hire RN program participation required.
• KY RN licensure required.
• BLS certification required.
• PALS/ACLS may be required for specific areas.
• Experience in hospital patient care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducts assessments from admission to discharge across the care continuum.
• Administers medications per licensure and documents administration.
• Plans care with patient and family using current knowledge and safety goals.
• Identifies and prioritizes patient problems.
• Implements nursing interventions to meet patient needs.
• Educates patient/family and evaluates outcomes.
• Collaborates with healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
• Advocates for patient and family rights.
• Ensures safety and compliance with policies and regulations.
• Mentors/opens to orient new staff.
