Job summary

MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital is seeking a full-time Barista for a day shift in a fast-paced hospital environment. You will prepare beverages, maintain a clean workspace, handle cash transactions, and ensure safety and quality across all drinks and products.

You will contribute to patient and visitor service with a positive attitude, support shift changes, and collaborate with team members to meet daily demand while following health and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Previous barista experience preferred.
• Washington State (DOH) Food Handlers card required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and makes drinks according to standard serving sizes.
• Makes a conscious effort maintain a tidy and clean work space.
• Accurately charges all customers the correct amount on the cash register.
• Safely operates and maintains all equipment.
• Practices safe food handling standards and maintains proper temperatures for all drinks and products kept in the espresso bar area.
• Exhibits teamwork and efficient time management by using extra time to assist coworkers and/or cleaning.
• Organizes time to accommodate workload, including unanticipated changes in volume.
• Continuously monitors for unsafe situations within the department to prevent injury.
• Provides excellent customer service to all patients, visitors and staff.
• Supports innovations that are introduced by team leaders and managers.
• Records temperatures of refrigerators in the temp log.
• Keeps adequate levels of supplies stocked in area so the next shift has needed items readily available.
• Works as an active team participant towards solutions to common problems.
