Job summary

Central State Hospital, under the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services, is seeking a Project Manager to lead the activation of a state-of-the-art hospital and the seamless transition from the current facility.

You will work closely with the COO to coordinate people, processes, systems, vendors, and operations to safely open the new hospital and ensure patient safety during the transition.

Qualifications

• Progressive experience in healthcare operations or hospital transition planning.
• Experience coordinating large-scale, multi-department initiatives.
• Experience working with OSHA, CMS, Joint Commission, or comparable regulatory requirements.
• Knowledge of project scheduling, risk management, performance tracking, and regulatory readiness.
• Strong analytical, organizational, negotiation, communication, conflict-resolution, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with project management software, reporting tools, and other technology used to coordinate complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, risk logs, and performance-tracking tools.
• Coordinate hospital activation, move sequencing, departmental relocation, and go-live activities.
• Lead cross-functional teams to support operational readiness across clinical, administrative, and support services.
• Collaborate with hospital leadership, construction teams, architects, contractors, vendors, and regulatory partners.
• Coordinate equipment installation, testing, staff orientation, workflow redesign, and inspection readiness.
• Monitor project risks, budgets, vendor deliverables, and contractual milestones.
• Prepare executive-level reports, dashboards, briefings, and stakeholder communications.
• Help ensure patient safety and continuity of care throughout the transition.
