Job summary

Residential Home Health and Hospice is seeking a Weekend Registered Nurse (RN) to provide end-of-life care to patients in their homes in the Northbrook, IL area. The position offers a $9,000 first-year success bonus for achieving key milestones during the first year.

Hours are every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM. You will work with an interdisciplinary team to ensure comfort, dignity and quality of life for patients and families, with opportunities for growth and ongoing

Qualifications

• Must hold an active RN license in the state where you work.
• Two years of RN experience with the clinical skills to deliver quality patient care; hospice experience preferred.
• Driver's license and ability to drive to patient locations ~20% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered hospice care in patients' homes.
• Perform urgent assessments, manage symptoms and pain, and provide end-of-life support.
• Support families during weekends and crises, ensuring clear information and reassurance.
• Exercise clinical judgment to coordinate care and maintain EMR documentation.
• Travel to patient homes within assigned territory.

Schedule for this position would be every Friday, Saturday & Sunday from 8:00 PM to 8:00AM.

What You’ll Do:

• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in a hospice setting, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team dedicated to comfort, dignity, and quality of life

• Respond to patient needs by performing urgent assessments, managing symptoms and pain, and providing compassionate end-of-life support in real time
• Support and guide patients and families during weekends, and crisis situations, ensuring they feel informed, reassured, and cared for throughout the hospice journey
• Apply strong clinical judgment and critical thinking to coordinate care needs, respond to changing patient conditions, and maintain accurate, timely, and compliant EMR documentation
• Work independently, but never alone
• Travel to patient homes within assigned territory

Weekend RN Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse, RN license in the state you work
• Two years of RN experience and the clinical expertise to deliver quality patient care, Hospice experience preferred

• Due to the field-based nature of this home health position, a valid driver’s license and the ability to spend approximately 20% of your workday driving to and from patient locations are required
