Job summary

Mountain Valley Hospice is seeking an experienced RN for after-hours, home-based on-call coverage from Monday to Thursday (5 PM–8 AM). The role focuses on independent, compassionate nursing care within the patient’s home and service area, with visits as needed to manage symptoms and provide guidance.

The position offers flexible hours, autonomy in patient management, and the chance to support families during difficult times while collaborating with the hospice team for continuity of care.

Qualifications

• Current RN license.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently and respond to changing patient needs.
• Hospice, home health, or related nursing experience preferred.
• Ability to remain within the assigned service area during scheduled on-call hours and travel to patients' homes when needed.

At Mountain Valley Hospice, our after-hours nurses provide compassionate care and reassurance to patients and families when they need it most. Unlike traditional night shift positions, our after-hours RNs are primarily on-call from home, responding to patient needs and making visits when necessary.

You'll have the independence to work from home between patient care needs while remaining available to provide hands-on nursing care throughout your assigned service area.

• Monday-Thursday: 5 PM-8 AM
