Job summary

Ohio’s Hospice is seeking a PRN Hospice PCS to provide direct patient care during night shifts in Dayton, Ohio. The role supports families by delivering compassionate care, documenting properly in EMR, and coordinating with an interdisciplinary team.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, nursing aide credentials (CHPNA preferred), and a valid Ohio driver’s license. Training is available; background check and drug screen are required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
  • Certified Nurse Aide is preferred; internal training available.
  • CHPNA certification preferred; Ohio Hospice supports growth.
  • Proficient documentation in EMR and patient care systems.
  • Valid Ohio driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Able to pass background check and 10-panel drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care during PRN night shifts (7pm–7:30am).
  • Document services accurately in electronic medical records.
  • Extend coverage at Dayton Hospice House IPU and Troy/Middletown IPUs as needed.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to support families and patients.
  • Maintain safety, confidentiality and quality of care standards.

Hospice PCS – Making every moment matter

As a Hospice PCS, you will play a vital role in enhancing quality of life for patients and supporting families during some of their most important moments. Working alongside a dedicated interdisciplinary team, you\'ll deliver compassionate care that brings comfort, dignity, and peace.

This is a PRN night shift position, 7pm-7:30am. This position is located at our Dayton Hospice House IPU and will also cover our Troy/Middletown Hospice House IPU\'s when needed as well.

Qualifications of this role:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Certified Nurse Aide (preferred, but will train internally)
  • Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse Aide (CHPNA) certification preferred. Ohio\'s Hospice supports professional growth and offers opportunities for eligible employees to obtain certification.
  • Proficient computer skills with the ability to accurately document patient care and services in electronic medical records.
  • Valid Ohio driver’s license with a safe driving record and proof of auto insurance.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and 10 panel drug screening.
