Job summary

MercyOne Genesis is seeking an experienced Hospice & Palliative Care Medical Director to provide clinical leadership for our established hospice program, including the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House and Hospice Home & Community Services.

In partnership with the Executive Director, Director of Clinical Services, and hospice leadership team, the Medical Director will oversee the quality and delivery of hospice and palliative care services while supporting program growth, quality initiatives, and

Qualifications

• MD or DO with Iowa medical license.
• Board Certification; Hospice & Palliative Medicine certification preferred.
• Fellowship training and hospice/palliative care experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interdisciplinary team skills.
• Commitment to patient-centered care across physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and cultural domains.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership for MercyOne Genesis hospice program and lead quality initiatives.
• Oversee the delivery of hospice and palliative care services and support program growth.
• Collaborate with the Executive Director and leadership team and coordinate interdisciplinary care.
• Share weekday call coverage with APP support and mentor clinical staff.
• Engage in teaching opportunities for staff and trainees.
