Job summary

St. Croix Hospice is seeking an On-Call Registered Nurse (RN) to provide after-hours hospice care, including visits, admissions, and crisis management. The role operates on a 7 days on / 7 days off rotating schedule, with nights and weekends required, ensuring continuous patient support in the Indiana region.

The ideal candidate holds an RN license, meets licensure requirements, and can pass background and drug screening. Driving may be required; a valid license and insured vehicle are necessary.

Qualifications

• RN license in state(s) of practice is required.
• Multistate license allows practice in other states without additional licenses (PSOR); note licensure compact limitations.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Ability to pass background, consumer report and drug test.
• If driving: valid state driver's license and insured vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide after-hours hospice nursing visits and admissions as part of 7/7 on-call schedule.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and revise plans of care accordingly.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Record clinical notes, pain and symptom management, and outcomes.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality of patient information.
• Support patient and family through crisis periods and end-of-life care.
