Job summary

St. Croix Hospice is seeking an experienced On-Call Registered Nurse for 7/7 coverage in Indianapolis. The RN handles after-hours hospice visits, admissions, and urgent needs, following a rotating 7 days on/off schedule.

Duties include assessments, care planning, medication administration, and family counseling to ensure quality end-of-life care. Requirements include an active RN license, graduate of an accredited nursing program, and ability to pass background checks.

Qualifications

• Must have a current RN license in state(s) of practice.
• Multistate license can practice in other states while maintaining primary RN license.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Ability to pass background, consumer report and drug test.
• If driving: valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Responds to after-hours calls for patient care and visits as needed.
• Performs comprehensive patient assessments and updates plans of care.
• Delivers professional nursing care per the physician's plan of care.
• Documents patient status, treatments and outcomes accurately.
• Maintains HIPAA compliance and confidentiality of patient information.
• Works on-call schedule: 5:00 PM–8:00 AM Mon–Thu and 24 hours on weekends.
