Job summary

Joseph Michaels International is seeking a compassionate Hospice Nurse (LPN or RN) for a 7on/7off on-call schedule in the East Kansas City Metro area, serving Jackson County and surrounding counties. The role requires MO/KS nursing licensure and CPR certification, with 2–5 years hospice experience preferred.

The nurse will assess and manage patient needs after hours, coordinating with families to ensure comfortable, quality end-of-life care in home or facility settings.

Qualifications

• Active MO/KS nursing license required.
• CPR certification required.
• 2–5 years hospice/palliative care experience preferred.
• Knowledge of hospice care services and interdisciplinary coordination.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Provide after-hours nursing care to patients in homes or facilities via telephone, home visits, and on-call duties.
• Coordinate and direct services to meet patient and family needs after normal business hours.
• Assess and manage symptoms, deliver patient education, and ensure continuity of care.
• Respond to caregiver inquiries and liaise with interdisciplinary team to plan patient care.
