Cedar Valley Hospice is seeking a compassionate Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team serving Waverly, IA and surrounding communities. You will provide expert clinical care, education and support to patients and families in home and facility settings as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Schedule: Full-Time (1.0 FTE) Monday - Friday | 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Additional requirements:

• Average of 2-3 weekends per year
• 1-2 weeknights per month of on-call coverage
• Participation in a holiday on-call rotation

What You’ll Do

• Provide nursing care to hospice patients in homes and healthcare facilities
• Deliver compassionate end-of-life care focused on comfort, dignity and quality of life
• Assess patients physical, emotional, psychosocial and spiritual needs
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans
• Monitor changes in condition and update plan of care
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care planning discussions
• Educate and support patients, caregivers and families
• Coordinate care and advocate for patients and families throughout their hospice journey

Qualifications

Required

• Current Iowa Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Positive attitude and commitment to teamwork
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn work-related software
• Valid Iowa driver's license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance

Preferred

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Two years of recent nursing experience, preferably working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
• Previous hospice, home health, palliative care, or related nursing experience

Physical Requirements

• Ability to move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
• Ability to travel throughout the service area and work in patient homes, healthcare facilities and office settings
• Ability to alternate between sitting, standing, walking and driving throughout the workday
• Pre-employment/post-offer physical, TB, and drug screen required
