AMEDISYS HOME HEALTH is seeking a Hospice Medical Director to lead end-of-life care, coordinate with a multidisciplinary team, and ensure high-quality patient outcomes. The role includes oversight of admissions, care planning, documentation, and on-call coverage to support patients and families.

The position requires an MD or DO, valid state license, CPR certification, and hospital staff privileges. Board certification in hospice and palliative medicine is preferred.

Qualifikationen

• Medical degree required (MD or DO).
• Current, unrestricted license to practice in the relevant state.
• Membership in good standing on the medical staff of at least one contracted hospital.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Aufgaben

• Conduct comprehensive, face-to-face assessments with patients and manage symptoms.
• Oversee patient admissions, discharges, certifications, recertifications and medication management.
• Ensure appropriate evaluation, certification, and recertification of terminal prognosis at admission and during certification periods.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to develop and update care plans for hospice patients.
• Provide on-call coverage for medical emergencies and collaborate with attending physicians.
