Job summary

Chapters Health System in Florida is seeking an LPN under RN supervision to provide nursing interventions and teach skills to maximize patient comfort and quality of life for patients and families.

The role requires current LPN licensure, IV and BLS certifications, and flexibility to meet patient needs. Some duties include medication administration, venipuncture, and safeguarding patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current LPN licensure in state of employment.
• IV certification required at time of hire and by deadlines.
• Active BLS for healthcare professionals from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
• BLS deadlines for current Hope or Capital Caring employees.
• Valid driver's license and automobile insurance per company policy.
• Reliable transportation to meet visit schedule.
• Infusion Therapy course and 8-hour infusion class preferred if in inpatient unit.
• Ability to communicate in English.
• Flexible schedule to meet patient needs.
• Ability to use equipment with visual/auditory mechanisms.
• Ability to handle emotional stress of caring for terminally ill patients.
• Ability to meet physical requirements with/without accommodation.
• Can work within scope of practice per state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Under RN supervision, perform nursing tasks and interventions for patients and families.
• Demonstrate clinical skills including medication administration and symptom management.
• Observe patients for changes and report to RN.
• Report adverse reactions to treatments to RN.
• Document in medical records per policy.
• May be required to work at location during emergencies to ensure continuity of services.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
