Job summary

Hospice Services of Massachusetts is hiring per diem LPNs to join our agency. LPNs provide direct nursing care under RN supervision and supervise nursing assistants to ensure high-quality care for residents. Travel throughout the area is required with mileage reimbursement, and weekly pay is offered.

The position demands current MA LPN/LVN license, CPR certification, and hospice experience is preferred. Duties include end-of-life care, documentation, patient/family education, and coordination

• Must be CPR certified.
• Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as an LPN/LVN in MA.
• Hospice experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• LPN provides direct patient care under RN supervision.
• Implements current nursing practice following a care plan.
• Documents patient services accurately and timely to reflect the plan of care.
• Educates patients and families about diagnosis and self-care.
• Coordinates hospice services and reports needs to the interdisciplinary team.
• Manages pain and symptoms; evaluates responses to treatments.
• Engages in personal and professional growth and participates in QA activities.

Hospice Services of Massachusetts is hiring per diem LPNs to join our agency!

Weekly pay ranges from $33 to $36 an hour. Candidate must be willing to travel throughout the area and comfortable working in skilled nursing, assisted living, and hospital settings. Mileage is reimbursed.

Our LPNs provide direct nursing care under the supervision of the RN to residents and to supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by the nursing assistant to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.

Experience & Education:

• Must be CPR certified.
• Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as an LPN/LVN in MA.
• Hospice experience preferred.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• LPN provides direct patient care as defined in the State Nurse Practice Act, including specialized duties related to end-of-life care.
• Implements current nursing practice following a comprehensive assessment and the plan of care.
• LPN provides accurate and timely documentation of patient services to reflect the plan of care.
• Assesses and provides patient and family/caregiver education and information pertinent to diagnosis and self-plan of care.
• Participates in coordination of hospice services, appropriately reporting the identified needs to the interdisciplinary group.
• LPN provides appropriate pain/symptom management. Evaluates patient’s response to treatments/medications.
• Participates in personal, professional growth and development. Also participates in the organization's quality assessment and performance improvement teams and activities.
