Job summary

Hospice Services of Massachusetts is hiring per diem Licensed Practical Nurses to join our care team. Travel throughout the area and work across skilled nursing, assisted living, and hospital settings. Weekly pay ranges from $33 to $36 an hour with mileage reimbursement.

You will provide direct nursing care under the supervision of the RN and supervise day-to-day nursing activities performed by the nursing assistant to ensure the highest quality of care at all times.

Qualifications

• Must have CPR certification.
• Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as an LPN/LVN in Massachusetts.
• Hospice experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care under the supervision of the RN and oversees day-to-day nursing activities performed by the nursing assistant to ensure quality of care.
• Implements current nursing practice following assessments and the plan of care.
• Documents patient services accurately and promptly to reflect the plan of care.
• Educates patients and families about diagnosis and self-care options.
• Coordinates hospice services and communicates identified needs to the interdisciplinary team.
• Manages pain and symptoms and evaluates treatments and medications.

Candidate must be willing to travel throughout the area and be comfortable in skilled nursing, assisted living, and hospital settings. Weekly pay ranges from $33 to $36 an hour. Mileage is reimbursed.
As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you provide direct nursing care under the supervision of the RN and supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by the nursing assistant to ensure the highest quality of care at all times.

Experience & Education:

• Must be CPR certified.
• Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as an LPN/LVN in this state.
• Hospice experience preferred.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provides direct patient care as defined in the State Nurse Practice Act, including specialized duties related to end-of-life care.
• Implements current nursing practice following a comprehensive assessment and the plan of care.
• Provides accurate and timely documentation of patient services to reflect the plan of care.
• Assesses and provides patient and family/caregiver education and information pertinent to diagnosis and self-plan of care.
• Participates in coordination of hospice services, appropriately reporting the identified needs to the interdisciplinary group.
• Provides appropriate pain/symptom management. Evaluates patient’s response to treatments/medications.
