Job summary

Hospice Care Center in Chattanooga, TN is seeking an Inpatient Unit Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care for hospice patients needing intensive pain and symptom management, end-of-life care, or inpatient respite services.

You will work with an interdisciplinary team to provide expert clinical care, ensuring comfort, dignity, and peace during meaningful moments. Sign-on bonus available; competitive benefits included.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license.
• Minimum of 1 year RN experience in medical-surgical, acute care, or related setting.
• Hospice experience preferred (or required where state regulations apply).
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Current CPR certification if required by state regulations.
• Experience using electronic medical records and clinical documentation systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to hospice patients requiring intensive pain and symptom management, end-of-life care, or inpatient respite services.
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care to promote comfort, dignity, and quality of life.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, wound care, and other skilled nursing interventions while monitoring patient response.
• Assess changes in patient condition, communicate findings, and collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team.
• Educate patients and families on hospice philosophy, disease progression, medications, and available support resources.
• Coordinate admissions, transfers, discharges, and care transitions for seamless continuity of care.
• Document assessments, interventions, medication administration, and outcomes in EMR per standards.
• Collaborate with physicians, PAs, social workers, chaplains, pharmacists, and other team members to deliver hospice care.
• Provide clinical leadership by mentoring caregivers and supporting quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain compliance with Medicare, state regulations, accreditation standards, and policies.
