Job summary

Hospice Care Center is seeking an Inpatient Unit Registered Nurse (RN) for night shifts (7pm-7am) to deliver compassionate hospice care. A $5,000 sign-on bonus accompanies a comprehensive benefits package, mentoring, and ongoing professional development.

Expect to assess patients, administer medications, coordinate admissions, and educate families while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to ensure dignity and comfort at end of life.

Qualifications

  • Current, unrestricted RN license.
  • Minimum of one year RN experience in medical-surgical, acute care, or related setting.
  • Hospice experience preferred (or required where state regulations apply).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Current CPR certification if required by state regulations.
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and pain and symptom management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
  • Experience using electronic medical records and clinical documentation systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to hospice patients requiring intensive pain and symptom management, end-of-life care, or inpatient respite services.
  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care that promote comfort, dignity, and quality of life.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, wound care, and other skilled nursing interventions while monitoring patient response and adjusting care as appropriate.
  • Assess changes in patient condition, communicate findings, and collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team for timely, coordinated care.
  • Educate patients and families on hospice philosophy, disease progression, medications, pain and symptom management, and available support resources.
  • Coordinate admissions, transfers, discharges, and care transitions for seamless continuity.
  • Document assessments, interventions, medication administration and outcomes in EMR per standards.
  • Collaborate with physicians, APPs, social workers, chaplains, pharmacists, and Hospice Aides to deliver hospice care.
  • Serve as a clinical leader by mentoring caregivers and promoting teamwork and quality improvement.
  • Maintain compliance with Medicare Conditions of Participation, state regulations, accreditation standards, and policies.

Working alongside an interdisciplinary team, you'll deliver expert clinical care while helping patients experience comfort, dignity, and peace during life's most meaningful moments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care that promote comfort, dignity, and quality of life.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, wound care, and other skilled nursing interventions while continuously monitoring patient response and adjusting care as appropriate.
  • Assess changes in patient condition, communicate clinical findings promptly, and collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to ensure timely, coordinated care.

$70,000 - $78,000 per year (Average Pay Range). The pay range listed represents a general posting guideline for the role and is not a fixed offer. Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, and the specific responsibilities of the position. The exact compensation rate will be discussed and confirmed at the conclusion of the interview process.
