Job summary

Empath Health is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Inpatient Care Center in Delray Beach. This role supports end-of-life care, coordinating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comfort and dignity.

The ideal candidate is a Florida-licensed RN with BLS and experience or interest in hospice, geriatric, or home health nursing. The position involves weekend night shifts (2 days, 7pm–7:30am).

Qualifications

• Current Florida RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience or exposure to hospice, geriatric, or end-of-life care preferred.
• Strong communication and teaching skills.
• Comfort with EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient and family care with physician and IDG.
• Assess patient and family needs thoroughly.
• Ensure timely delivery of interventions per care plan.
• Monitor patient conditions and provide comfort-focused interventions.
• Address concerns to maintain trust and satisfaction.

What You'll Do

As an RN in our inpatient care center, you will play a vital role in coordinating and delivering compassionate end-of-life care:

• Coordinate patient and family care in collaboration with the primary physician and interdisciplinary team (IDG)
• Conduct thorough assessments of patient and family needs
• Ensure timely and coordinated delivery of interventions and services outlined in the care plan
• Use your clinical expertise to monitor patient conditions, provide interventions, and deliver education that enhances comfort and quality of life
• Address concerns promptly and thoughtfully to ensure a high level of satisfaction and trust

What You'll Need

• Registered Nurse currently licensed in the State of Florida.
• Current Basic Life Support Certification.
• One year in public health, home nursing care, oncology nursing, medical/surgical nursing, geriatric nursing or Hospice nursing preferred.
• Understanding of and ability to apply characteristics of Hospice Nursing: case management, crisis intervention, communication skills, teaching skills, thanatology skills and needs
• Basic computer skills and EMR software experience a plus.
• Adequate and reliable means of transportation with adequate insurance and valid Florida driver’s license.
