Job summary

Cedar Valley Hospice in Waterloo, IA invites a compassionate RN to join our inpatient Hospice Home. This day shift role runs 7:00am–7:00pm and includes every 3rd weekend and holiday, offering meaningful end‑of‑life care focused on comfort and dignity.

You will assess and address physical, emotional, psychosocial, and spiritual needs, develop individual care plans, educate families, and collaborate with an empathetic team at our Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

Qualifications

• Current Iowa Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Positive attitude and commitment to teamwork.
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn work‑related software.
• Valid Iowa driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance.
• BSN is preferred.
• Two years of recent nursing experience is preferred.
• Previous hospice, home health, palliative care, or related nursing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for up to 6 patients in our inpatient Hospice Home.
• Deliver compassionate end‑of‑life care focused on comfort, dignity and quality of life.
• Assess patients’ physical, emotional, psychosocial and spiritual needs.
• Participates in developing individualized care plans.

Schedule

What You'll Do

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
• Ability to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking throughout the workday
• Pre‑employment/post‑offer physical, TB, and drug screen required
