Salary guaranteed regardless of hours worked on call.No weekends or holidays required.What You’ll DoRespond to all calls received by the answering service on weeknights and provide direct hospice nursing care to patients.Complete assigned weeknight visits that are scheduled by primary care nurse.Consult with Physician for appropriate orders and communicate patient condition changes and the need for medical intervention. Uses teaching, assessment, observation, and intervention skills to provide comfort and care while maximizing patient/family quality of life.Manage the individualized patient plan of care and make necessary revisions as needs change.Participate in hospice admissions process as needed with accurate and thorough documentation.Work collaboratively with the Rest Assured team to ensure all on-call needs are met agency wide.QualificationsRequiredCurrent Iowa Registered Nurse (RN) licenseStrong communication and interpersonal skillsPositive attitude and commitment to teamworkBasic computer proficiency and ability to learn work-related softwareValid Iowa driver's license, reliable transportation, and auto insurancePreferredBachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)Two years of recent nursing experience, preferably working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary teamPrevious hospice, home health, palliative care, or related nursing experiencePhysical/Other RequirementsAbility to move 50lbs with or without accommodation.Ability to travel throughout the service area and work in patient homes, healthcare facilities and office settingsAbility to alternate between sitting, standing, walking and driving throughout the workdayPre-employment/post-offer physical, TB, and drug screen requiredJoin Our TeamEnjoy a nursing career where you can make a meaningful impact every day!
