Job summary

Symbii Home Health is seeking a compassionate homemaker to support hospice patients and families, under the direction of a registered nurse. You will perform essential household tasks, prepare meals, and provide emotional support to both patient and family.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 2 years of nursing assistant experience, hospice orientation, and a valid driver's license with reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 2 years experience as a nursing assistant.
• Active patient contact within past 3 years, preferred.
• Completed Hospice orientation.
• Ability to work independently and make quick judgments.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and access to transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide homemaker services to hospice patient and family under RN guidance.
• Perform essential household tasks for patient’s wellbeing at home.
• Prepare meals including special diet.
• Assist with shopping when needed.
• Provide emotional support and compassionate care; demonstrate listening skills.
• Report changes to RN or Hospice office promptly.
• Follow OSHA and infection control protocols; adhere to policies and guidelines.
